| | In the Easter Basket | | Easter is less than two weeks away, have you started getting things for your child's Easter basket? This year we've decided to go easy on the candy and more heavy on the things like toys and trinkets that our children are more likely to enjoy. For my son's basket we've gotten a box of crayons, a Thomas the Tank engine and a Webkinz L'il Kinz bunny. For my daughter's we've also gotten a box of crayons and a Webkinz L'il Kinz Lamb as well as a spring pack of Littlest Pet Shop. We haven't gotten any candy yet, but we will get a little bit of candy to go in their baskets as well. What is your child going to find in their Easter basket on Easter morning? | |

| Did You Order your candy for your Easter Basket? | | I was shocked at the orders I got for Easter candy this year. Good news for me but I just assumed that since everyone is pinching pennies that my orders would be way down this year. Well was I ever wrong! I have had more orders this year than I did last year. Here is a list of some of the things I make.
Which one do you think I got more orders for?
6" hollow chocolate bunnies
4" solid chocolate bunnies
peanut butter eggs
maple filled eggs
chocolate suckers
One of these outsold the other by a landslide. Which one do you think it was?
I'll let you know when you answer.
I hope you all have a very Happy Easter!!! | |

| Easter Basket Filler Ideas | | For those who are still looking for ideas for Easter baskets, here are a few ideas I got from a group I am in.1. Bunny Poop: Raisinets with a cute poem to go along with it.2. Egg Buddies: little egg shaped toys, can add ears and tails for all kinds of animals3. Carrot Treats: use sandwich baggie, fill with something orange (orange jelly beans, candy corn, or even cheetos (they are the perfect color!)) Tie this off so the orange goodies in the bag look like a carrot shape. Then add some green plastic wrap, wrapping paper, or fabric to the top to look like a carrot. 4. Mini Carrots (healthy Snack)5. Books, Pens, Pencils, stuffed animal (small)6. Homemade Chocolate Eggs: http://www.TopSecretRecipes.com Recipe for Cadbury eggs7. Homemade potato candy: http://www.thefamilycorner.com/cgi-bin/sefer.cgi?display:1080016831-23336.txt8. homemade snowballs (you can call them bunny tails: http://www.thefamilycorner.com/cgi-bin/sefer.cgi?display:1080017396-23794.txtI hope some of these ideas help anyone trying to decide what to do. | |

| What to put in a toddlers easter basket? | | Ok I've quickly realized with easter coming up that I should put my daughter together an easter basket this year. I have no idea what I should put in it. She is only 17 months old so I don't want to put candy in it. The girl has all the toys in the world she could ever want. What do you all think I should put in her easter basket? I know she won't remember it but I want to at least do something. | |
| | What is on your Easter Basket? | | We went to Target earlier and my toddler caught a glimpse of all those ready to purchase Easter Baskets. The price was for $14.99 and there just a few toys in there and candy. She pointed one she likes where there is a tutu and ballet slippers. Told her that soon the Easter Bunny will come hoping our way and we still don't know what the contents of the easter basket will be.I am against buying a ready to purchase easter basket coz I probably can find more interesting stuff than the ones in the basket. I am thinking of a DVD or some little toys and some candies.Have you purchased your Easter basket yet? What do you have in them? If not, what are you planning to fill it up with? | |

| Should I question this odd gift from my m-in-law to my daughter? | | This year we did not visit my in-laws for Easter. They're only 5 minutes from us - and we did see them the weekend before. Nothing was officially planned, so we made our own plans . . . which should not have bothered them as they often tell us we cannot come to visit on so and so day because they made other plans already. So my hubby went over there yesterday because they needed help with something. My mother-in-law gave him a Easter basket to give to my daughter. And a card for my baby son. Nice, um, but weird. It was a wooden basket filled with easter grass and cat hair (which my daughter is allergic to). There was one cool chirping chick inside. The rest: one old looks-like-it-melted Hershey's kiss, an punchball in an opened bag (not sure if it was blown previously - we're not going to risk it), and another opened bag which had pens and a white fabric rabbit and egg that was to be colored with these pens . . . looks like some brown liquid had spilled and dried onto the fabric rabbit. What a bizarre Easter basket! The card to our baby son was not an Easter card . . . it was a welcome baby card (they've seen him many times since his birth in November). Inside there was... | |
| | Are you too old for an Eater Basket | | Good Morning Mylot! I was just thinking back to when my mom would make all of us children Easter baskets. She would make me an Easter basket, even when I was twenty years old, and still living in her house. In fact, I even told my mom I would like another one this year. I find it neat she still makes me Easter Baskets filled with goodies of candy, and little presents. Remembering the mornings before Easter that we would color the eggs together was always fun. Did your mom make you an Easter basket? What was in it? Do you think you are too old for an Easter basket? What kind of Easter basket would you prefer today as an adult? I guess I have candy on the mind this morning! More like chocolate.. | |
