| Choking on the pink ribbons yet???? | | Well, it's October and we are swamped in pink Ribbons for breast cancer awareness again. Am I the only one who is tired of the blatant commercialization of this terrible disease. We are so long past the need for breast cancer AWARENESS. We are now in the era of breast cancer ACCOUNTABILITY. I first became aware of breast cancer when I was a teenager. I am now in my sixties and women are still dying from this disease AND we still are not certain of the causes, etc. Just what have they done with all the money that has been donated to this cause? Not much bang for the buck, I say. | |
| | Your opinion on dog hair ribbons? | | Obviously putting ribbons in dogs' hair makes them look extremely cute (sometimes even too cute) but seriously, it's only for the owner's satisfaction. The dog doesn't walk around thinking "man I look hot with my little pink gingham bow hanging off my ear hair!"As long as the rubber band isn't pulling on the dog's hair and it's not too tight, it's not really a problem but it makes me think that some dog owners these days aren't respecting the dog for being that, a dog. The dog doesn't care if it's wearing a ribbon, or wearing a bloody tutu for goodness' sake! However, it's better than seeing an animal neglected.
What is your take on doggy accessories?

| The Gift of Tying Ribbons | | This morning my sister and I went to the bookstore to get our gift wrapped, and the lady at the wrapping section told us to put a ribbon around the gift box. I thought at first that she meant to put only a simple ribbon, just tie it around and that's it. I was amazed at the way she tied the ribbon around and even made a flower from it.I don't know how to do it but I'd love to learn.
Anyone else appreciate ribbons? Do you know how to make creative ribbons out of a simple one? OR do you know any websites where they teach you how to do that? Please share it to me if you know any.Thank you!

| Video: How To Give Pills To A Cat- Without Getting Clawed Into Ribbons.... | | My "Deceased-For-The Moment" Familiar, Jackie The Ripper, would probably still try to kill me if I even dared to THINK about giving her a pill...But this lady makes it look easy!:) Expert Village has great videos on nearly everything, and this one is no exception...Imagine the money that you could save if you didn't have to take your cat to the vet everytime that he or she needed to take a pill!:)http://www.expertvillage.com/videos/cat-first-aid-health-pill-pockets.htmThere are plenty of cat owners here on MyLot- check out this video and let me know what you think... Does your cat become "Psycho" every time you try to give it medicine? How often does your cat become "vengeful" after a trip to the vet? | |

Can you imagine if instead of purchasing all of the ribbons I am about to list, we all made that $1.00 or more donation to the "cause" we are supporting, how much actual research could be done in the name of our causes.
