myLot Discussions| Say Boas Tardes, If You´re A Portuguese MyLoter!!
I´m really curious to know how much portuguese myloters are there...I´m portuguese, that´s why i´m so curious. Also because i would like to know if it would make sense to launch discussions regarding Portugal. That would be very interesting and stimulating for me, since i´m allways "limitated" by international issues.Peace
| | Orange feather boas | | Nope, discussion is NOT about orange feather boas. Question - does it bother you if a discussion has a header that has nothing to do with the topic? And why? Do you feel deceived or fooled? Generally it doesn't bother me but if it did I probably would just not bother to reply. | |
| | pit vipers, pythons and boas | | Is is true that pit vipers, pythons and boas have organs in their head that detect their body heat?
Do you know? | |
| | Reptiles as pets..what would you choose? | | My bf and I love to have pets around us. We just added a baby alligator to our pet family a couple of days ago. The little gator is so cute. We haven't been able to set up his tank yet and he has been trying his best to get out of his container non stop, day and night since we got him. He also makes the cutest noise when it seems that he loses hope of getting out..or maybe he is calling his m other. I'm not sure. I would not like to run into her!! We haven't named the little gator yet. We also have a bearded dragon named Paco, a water monitor named Rick James (or slick Rick), a turtle named Fred, 2 red tail boas named Aretha Franklin and Bobby Brown, and then we have some toad frogs. We really enjoy the reptiles. They are quite interesting to have around. The only thing that I don't like is feeding the snakes because they eat rabbits. We are always looking to add to our reptile collection. We go to a reptile show each month, and we frequent the pet store. If you decide to invest in a reptile, be sure to take special care of them. If they do not have the proper lighting and heat then their food can not digest and they will die. If you were to get a reptile, which one would you... | |
| | so big boa!!! | | This is a true matter occuring in China. In the southeast part of China, a freeway is building, when the grab digged the land, two big boas appeared in the front of the driver. It is said that the driver fainted at once at that moment. The boa was 16M long and 65KG weight with gold squama and crest on their heads. One boa was cutted into two pieces by the excavater, the other one screamed and ran. Before this accident, the leader of this constructional force had a dream that he dreamd the big snake said to him that do not dig there tomorrow, we will move, after the day, you can continue to start. But the leader did not keep it in mind. As a result, the thing happend like a tragedy. Do you believe that any kind of animal has spiritualism when it lives for many yeas? | |

| | You Can't Have that Pet and a Baby? | |
The Chief of Police in my little town seems to think I am the most awful mother on earth because I own a Rottweiler and I have a 2 year old baby. Now to be fair, the Chief hates my dog because my dog hides down at the edge of my property in the honeysuckle bushes and waits for the Chief to drive down the alley. When the Chief gets to my property my dog jumps up on the fence and growls and barks at him. (My dog hates uniforms...he does the same thing to the UPS driver and the mailman)[em]lol[/em]So the Chief has stopped here half a dozen times this summer alone to try to convince me to get rid of my dog for the safety and well being of my baby. Not gonna happen. If I don't introduce my dog to you, you don't belong here. And my dog would put himself in front of anyone or anything to protect me and my 4 kids.I've also owned a pit bull, a German Shepherd, 2 Dobermans, an Iguana (that was 3 ft long before you measured his tail) 3 different kinds of pythons, and 2 different boas, all while I have had children. And no one in my family has ever gotten so much as a scratch from any of my animals. So I think that if trained and domesticated properly you can have any animal as...
| | fasinating snakes | | i love snakes they are the most fasinating creatures, we have two boas and they are so loving and loyal, do you like snakes and does anyone have one as a pet (that was 3 ft long before you measured his tail) 3 different kinds of pythons, and 2 different boas, all while I have had children. And no one in my family has ever gotten so much as a scratch from any of my animals. So I think that if trained and domesticated properly you can have any animal as a pet. (notice I said Domesticated)What are your thoughts? What animal would you never own or what animals do you think are inappropriate to own with small children in the home? | |
| | Animal Planet Sunday | | Yesterday I was lazy. I lay around cuddling kittens (we are fostering 3 kittens until they are old enough to be adopted) and watched nature shows on Animal Planet. It was a pretty good day, lions and tigers and bears, oh my. This guy who was killed by bears a few years back actually has a show on now, they're showing his footage posthumously. Amazing how close he got to a family of foxes and I know it's just a trick of the photography, but it looks like he's right up beside the bears. Then there were several shows in a row of people who had some narrow brushes with death due to getting too close to boas, swordfish, lions, tigers, bears, poisonous snakes, rhinos, elephants, cape buffalo (you'd be grouchy too if you were being mauled by lions), sharks, crocodiles and even a giant octopus! Amazing! Don't suppose I'll ever get out and actually DO any of that, but incredible to watch. Anybody else like watching this stuff? Or other educational shows? | |
| | What was the weirdest thing you have found at work or other places? | | We always find weird stuff when we clean our store at work. One night while folding a table of t shirts, I found a full pack of cigarettes and a harmonica beside eachother. My coworker that night found a condom on the floor in a package. We have these boas (feather scars, glamour style) hanging over our change rooms. My coworker actually found a used tampon in there. Someone actually went as far as to take it out and shove it strategically in the scarf!!Weve seen stuff of all kinds. But the everyday stuff is just people who are to lazy to ask for the garbage and hides their garbage in the most random places. Anyone out their find anything really weird? | |
